Our players, our children, our community - nothing means more to us than caring for them and providing the best opportunities we can for them in life. At G-NG-R Little League, we're always trying to improve and, in 2026, that improvement will focus on creating a positive, reaffirming, and supportive culture for our program.
In 2026, our focus will be training our league staff and coaches to build confident, supported, and successful players through the power of positive coaching and constructive sport.
Over the past 10 years, our league has made great strides in terms of operational offerings. Since 2015, we've added an amazing array of opportunities and perks that had not been previously provided by our leagues:
yearly winter clinics in January
no-cost indoor practices in March and April including batting cage practices (thanks to theCagesMe.com) for our higher levels
inter-league travel games during our regular season
full uniforms including pants at all levels
dye-sublimated, top-rated jerseys for our higher levels
Summer baseball and softball programs
Fall baseball programs
And, one of our teams went all the way to the World Series!
We've also created our fantastic Pennway Park baseball and softball field which is available for play for both our softball and baseball programs.
Plus, in 2025 & 2026, we're completing the refurbishment of Intervale Field in New Gloucester - see the new dugouts under construction below;
We're also putting a new batting cage and warm-up pitching lane at Douglass Field in Gray. The crushed stone and gravel base is in and the poles, turf ground covering, and net
will go in before the season starts in 2026.
We're very proud of these accomplishments and belive they help build a well-rounded operational program for our players.
However, the operational side is only one side of the coin. We've always held coaches' trainings to try and impart our vision for teaching and guiding the players, but we're now partnering with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) to bring professional training to our leadership, coaches, parents, and players.
In 2026, we'll have three trainings for our staff and coaches. We'll have catered coffee and donuts to help make it a good time. These trainings are presented by professional staff with training in increasing our ability to engage with players, support their mental health, impart leadership qualities, and have fun.
We'll create more empathetic coaches who have the knowledge and skill to be effective leaders of our children and who will help mold them to be successful contributors to our society's future.
We want our coaches to be confident, empathetic, and knowledgeable.
All coaches will be required to attend our coaches trainings. They'll be 2 hours of instruction, discussion, and donuts!
We'll all become better coaches, people, and leaders. Our players, our children, will benefit from this investment of time and learning in ways that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.
So, please use the links below to sign up and join us at the GNGHS Cafetorium for these trainings and help us build a better league,
